My name is Oleg.
I am a programmer, entrepreneur, and technology enthusiast.
Here you can learn more about me.
I have created VideoWorkLink (VWL) because I want more of remote work in the world.
I think many people don’t want to live where jobs are (in big polluted cities) but want to live where they want to live. I am no exception.
After living 10 years in Moscow I understand how attractive it is to live in a nice cheap city, work remotely with a decent salary.
Isn’t that a dream that worth making true? I am sure it is.
Unfortunately, there are still not enough remote work opportunities in the world. Why it is so, considering the fact that telecommuting was introduced 40 years ago in 1971?
I found out that many companies are hesitant to go remote because of fear of communication breakdown within the team.
After years of research, I’ve discovered that team managers unconsciously fear the separation from employees because it means that there will be no non-verbal contact with them. You can’t intuitively “read” your teammates when they are not around.
Moreover, communication becomes sporadic and inconsistent. Lots of text chat and video calling barely helps.
VWL is the result of 5 years of R&D aimed to solve that problem.
I am not saying that VWL is the “ideal” or “only” solution; I want to offer you a possible yet very exciting and elegant solution that will bring your remote team in a close contact which makes all of you feel connected.
In all sincerity,
Oleg I. Galkin
